Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer (SSD Storage)

Our client is a leader in cutting-edge storage solutions, specializing in high-performance SSD technologies. We are seeking a talented Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of next-generation storage products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize embedded firmware for SSD storage products, with a focus on Flash Translation Layer (FTL).
  • Debug and troubleshoot firmware using tools such as emulators, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, QA) to deliver robust storage solutions.
  • Implement and refine storage protocols including NVMe, FTL, FML, and NAND Flash.
  • Foster a team-oriented development environment, including collaboration with geographically distributed teams.
  • Maintain code quality through rigorous testing, documentation, and adherence to industry standards.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware design/development for SSD storage products.
  • Expertise in C programming for resource-constrained embedded systems.Proficiency in debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and firmware validation.
  • Strong understanding of storage technologies:
    • NVMe protocolFlash Translation Layer (FTL)
    • NAND Flash managementExperience with FML is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work in distributed teams and build collaborative workflows.
  • Self-driven mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a low-oversight environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with RTOS or bare-metal programming.
  • Familiarity with Python scripting for automation.
  • Knowledge of ARM/RISC-V architectures.
  • Contributions to open-source storage projects or patents.
