Artificial Intelligence/ Optimization Data Scientist

Pivotics is an AI software design and implementation company with the headquarters based in San Diego, California and its R&D offices located in the EU and which is focused on AI/ DL products realization.
Role Description:
We are seeking an AI/ Optimization Data Scientist who will contribute to a cutting-edge AI technology product which will be then realized in route optimization (2400 buses) and other challenging tasks for a big Mexican brand.
Key qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science
- Mathematical background, experience in solving applied problems using Deep Learning technologies
- Proficiency in modern Python language
- Understanding transportation logistics, traffic management, and public transit operations to define relevant features and constraints for route optimization models
- Optimization Algorithms: Knowledge and experience in optimization techniques, such as linear programming and heuristic methods, dynamic programming; reinforcement learning, imitation learning, agent-based modeling.
- Experience in Geospatial analysis (GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and geospatial data manipulation to deal with location-based data)
- Ability to extract solvable sub-tasks from the big common project goal, formulate a problem in ML terms, evaluate the result
- Ability to deliver full-cycle data science product – from task statement and research to the model, ready for production implementation
- Ability to work with research papers and SOTA in the field, select appropriate algorithms that suit best for the task solving
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem solving, time-management, organizational and project-management skills
- Interest and ability to work in a close, interdependent team of data analysts and business owners
- At least 3 year industry experience building ML systems
- Solid software engineering skills for prototyping
- Fluent English speaker (upper-intermediate and higher).
Additional requirements (it will be a plus):
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Linguistics, Computer Science or another quantitative field
- C++ knowledge
- Knowledge of one of the Deep Learning frameworks: PyTorch, Tensorflow, Keras
- Ability to work with Big Data
- Production experience solving named entity recognition tasks, sentiment analysis, developing chat-bots
